In this video, I am going to give you Five Reasons the Shadow is a Good Beginner Motorcycle. Is the Honda Shadow a good beginner motorcycle? Specifically,
The Spirit of 750. The Honda Shadow was introduced in 1983 with two options. a good look that represents a more modern appeal. Check out more new bikes in Rider‘s 2024 Motorcycle Buyers
Honda makes great bikes. They have a good torque / hp / acceleration balance where you can cruise along or cram the throttle and it'll respond accordingly. 750s will do fine about 60-70mph on highway and shadows are fairly nimble to get you thru the back roads.. Personal experience; 750 didn't last me long but they're great "learners bikes".
The engine is not max revved at 55-60 mph. The bike should go up to a round 100mph. When your at 60mph, pull in the clutch and let engine rpms drop. If the vibration goes away it's the engine, if it doesn't you have a wheel balance or bearing problem. Save Share.
Ninja 250/300, for larger riders the Honda Shadow Spirit 750 is more comfortable but the weight takes getting used to, I know at least 3 people who had one as their first bike. The Honda Grom is a fun and easy bike to learn on if you don't plan on a lot of highway travel. 3.
After a couple of years of not riding I got back into riding, got a good deal on an 09 Honda Aero 750, had the bike for a year before outgrowing it, didn't mind the power, but I just felt cramped on longer rides, I'm 6'2, so trade it for an 06 Sabre 1100, I just liked the way that bike felt from day one, and the difference in power between it and the a 750, the bike had 13000 miles on it when
However, the top of Honda’s 750 line-up is the retro classic 750 Aero. Under the Arrows classic 14 liter fuel tank you’ll find a liquid-cooled fuel-injected 745 CC long stroke v-twin powerplant that is fed by a single 34 mm throttle body to help maximize combustion of each cylinders.
I have always recommended a lighter, used bike as a first bike for a few reasons: Lighter is way way easier to handle: notice most training schools use 250s or around there and have maybe one 500 for very large learners. Smaller bikes are easier to park, brake, maneuver and often consumables are slightly cheaper.
ive been the proud owner of a 2007 Honda Shadow 750 since 2008. its been a great bike; rides like glass, sits low and comfortable, and chicks think i look good on it (important!!!). but im getting older and am thinking about getting a new bike one day. i WONT touch Harleys. they are way too expensive for the amount of road life i could get out

a rebel is a light commuter bike. its no good for the freeway ( at least in tx and ca where the bulk of my riding is) . it might do it but you'll have the throttle wide open for a while before you'll hit 70. the shadow is decent for a commuter bike that requires freeway capabilities but is underpowered for long trips, but its doable.. liabilityThe sprocket change is a well known upgrade and covered in all the 750 forums. It's been a while since I sold mine, and have forgotten the exact specs. They are a good solid bike, and will handle your 200 lbs. At 6'3" you might feel a bit cramped unless you go for the forward controls. I'm 6'0" and here I am on the bike (this was a 2003 model)
2009 Honda Shadow® Spirit 750 pictures, prices, information, and specifications. Starter. Electric I'm spoiled to good bikes (the spirit)and my favoriteRock solid starter bike imo. Can't go wrong with a 2000s Japanese cruiser in the 750-900cc range. Don't let the cc size spook you, they're geared differently and weigh more than sport bikes, so a 750cc cruiser will be much more mild mannered than a 750 sport bike would be
Don't forget to look at 750cc, 650cc, and maybe 950cc just because there are three terrific machines made in those displacements- they are basically in the same family as the 800-900cc bikes with minor performance differences (the 650cc Yamaha V-Star is usually a popular starter bike, the 750cc Honda Shadow is a terrific bike to start on, andkgAu.
