Audi has a TSB for updated parts to fix a "timing chain noise", sounds like their way of admitting there is an issue. I've been reading up on the TSBs, and have found some referring to chain rattle, like 2039995/1 that specifically states that all vehicles from 2011-2014 equipped with the V6 3.0 TSFI are subject to this issue.
D - Remove Timing Belt and accessories. D1. Remove driver side Timing Belt (TB) cover with 3x 5mm allen. D2. Remove passenger side TB cover with 2x 5mm allen. D3. Remove center TB cover with 2x clip (pry off.) D4. Using a big socket turn the crank to top dead center (TDC) using the reference mark provided.

I didnt see it in the service manual for recommended times. I'm at 150k miles and nothing has exploded just yet ( knock on wood) I had the tensioners done. $4400 at the dealership. 2013 with 95k. Found out around 88k and was fine except for the occasional rattle.
